Description
Don’t just do Bread Pudding do bigger, “breadier” pudding with fresh D'Italiano® thick-sliced bread for a festive twist on a classic favourite.
Ingredients
- 8 slices of D’Italiano® Thick Slice Original White Bread
- ¾ of a stick of butter
- ½ cup of raisins
- 6 eggs , beaten
- 2 ½ cups of milk
- ¾ cups white sugar
- 1 tsp. of ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- Cranberries, for serving
How to make
- 1 Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- 2 Break bread into small pieces into a baking pan and/or individual pans. Drizzle melted butter over bread. If desired, sprinkle with raisins.
- 3 In a medium mixing bowl, combine eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla. Beat until well mixed. Pour over bread, and lightly push down with a fork until bread is covered and soaking up the egg mixture.
- 4 Bake in the preheated oven for 50 minutes, or until the top springs back when lightly tapped.
- 5 Let cool for 10 minutes.
- 6 Top with your favourite festive toppings such as cranberries or raisins.
